Terms & Conditions

We’re so happy you’ve chosen Composure Studio for your photoshoot or event. Our studio has been thoughtfully designed to be a flexible, inspiring, and welcoming space for creatives, businesses, and the wider community.

 

To ensure everyone enjoys the studio and that the space remains beautiful, safe, and available for all guests, we’ve outlined the following Terms & Conditions. They are here to set clear expectations, protect everyone involved, and help your booking run smoothly.

 

While a signature may be requested in some instances, confirmation of your booking and entry into the studio constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking Composure Studio, the Hirer agrees to these Terms & Conditions and accepts responsibility for ensuring that all guests, clients, staff, contractors, and attendees associated with their booking also comply.

 

Our goal is always to work collaboratively and fairly. These terms exist to provide clarity, not complication.

2. Bookings, Payments & GST

  • Full payment is required to prior to the booking. Please note, on some occasions, a non-refundable deposit will be obtained to secure the date if scheduled over 1 month in advance.

  • Any additional charges (including overtime, cleaning, damage, additional hire items, or replacement costs) will be invoiced separately and are payable within seven (7) days.

  • All studio hire fees and services are quoted exclusive of GST unless otherwise stated.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to the booking may be rescheduled once at no cost.

  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the booking incur a 50% cancellation fee.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the booking incur a 100% cancellation fee.

  • In the event of emergencies or circumstances beyond our control, Composure Studio may cancel or reschedule a booking. Where this occurs, fees paid will be refunded or the booking rescheduled at no additional cost.

4. Studio Access & Booking Time

  • Studio access is provided strictly for the confirmed booking period.

  • Guests may arrive no more than five (5) minutes prior to the booking start time.

  • Booking time includes set-up and pack-down.

  • Overtime is charged at $30 per 15-minute increment and is calculated using smart door access logs and CCTV time records.

  • Overtime charges will be invoiced and are payable within seven (7) days.

  • Guests are responsible for ensuring that both entry doors are locked and secured before leaving the premises.

  • In the event a door is left unlocked or open, the Hirer is responsible for any unwelcome guests, damage, or theft that occurs as a result.

5. Hours of Operation & After-Hours Hire

  • Standard studio hours are:

    • Monday to Thursday: 10:00am – 5:00pm

    • Friday to Sunday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

  • After-hours bookings are defined as 5:00pm – 10:00pm, seven (7) days a week.

  • After-hours hire is charged at a flat rate of $100 per hour (excluding GST), with a minimum booking of one (1) hour and subject to availability.​

 

6. Respect for the Space

Composure Studio is a shared professional environment, and we kindly ask all guests to treat the space with care and respect.

 

  • Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the studio and within five (5) metres of the entrance.

  • All furniture, props, equipment, and fittings must be used respectfully and as intended.

  • Explicit or adult entertainment content is not permitted within the studio.

  • Composure Studio does not hold an Adult Entertainment Permit. Adult entertainment is defined as content where anything beneath a bikini bottom is exposed.

  • If you are unsure whether your planned content is suitable (including boudoir, lingerie, bikini shoots, or live art models), please contact us in advance as we’re always happy to clarify.

7. Furniture, Props & Equipment

  • Furniture and props may be moved to suit your session but must be returned to their original positions before departure.

  • Standing on furniture or using items in a way that could cause damage is not permitted.

  • Please take care when using body makeup, oils, or fake tan. Any staining or damage may result in professional cleaning or replacement costs.

  • External props or furniture may be brought into the studio provided set-up and pack-down occur within your booking time.

  • Any items accessed from storage areas must be returned to their original location. Missing or damaged items may incur replacement fees.​

 

8. Cleaning & Condition of the Studio

  • The studio must be left clean, tidy, and in the same condition it was provided.

  • A professional cleaning service is available at $50 per hour and must be pre-booked.

  • If cleaning is not pre-booked, the Hirer is responsible for cleaning the space within their booking period.

  • Confetti and smoke machines are permitted provided all residue is fully cleaned before departure. Cleaning equipment is supplied.

  • Destructive items (including fake blood, flares, or similar substances) are not permitted.

  • Paint is permitted with prior approval and a plan to remedy any drops or spills.

  • All rubbish must be placed in the bins provided. Excess or large waste must be removed from the premises.

9. Fire Safety & Open Flame Policy

Your safety is important to us.

  • Candles and small open flames are permitted only when used responsibly and never left unattended.

  • Flares, sparklers, fireworks, pyrotechnics, smoke devices, or similar items are strictly prohibited.

  • Fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and a fire blanket, is located at the rear of the studio along the back wall.

  • The Hirer is responsible for any fire, smoke, or heat-related damage caused during their booking.

  • If a fire alarm is activated or emergency services are called due to the Hirer’s actions, all associated costs will be charged to the Hirer.

  • For safety reasons, management may immediately stop unsafe activity or end a booking without refund if fire safety rules are breached.​

 

10. Surveillance & Security

  • Composure Studio operates in accordance with applicable security surveillance and privacy requirements.

  • The studio is monitored by 24/7 CCTV for safety, security, and asset protection purposes only.

  • By entering the studio, all guests consent to this monitoring.

  • CCTV footage is securely stored, retained for a limited period, and automatically overwritten in line with standard surveillance practices.

  • CCTV footage is not sold, shared, or used for marketing or commercial purposes.

  • Footage may only be accessed by authorised management where reasonably required for safety, compliance, incident investigation, damage assessment, or protection of the studio and its occupants.

  • Cameras must not be covered, obstructed, disabled, or interfered with under any circumstances.

  • Any interference with security systems will result in immediate termination of the booking without refund.

  • CCTV is not used to listen to conversations or to monitor guests unnecessarily.​

 

11. Animals in the Studio

  • Animals are welcome with prior written approval.

  • Pets are permitted for photoshoots or medical reasons only.

  • All animals must remain on a leash at all times. Leashes may be briefly removed while photos are being captured.

  • Animals are not permitted on sofas, white cushions, or white chairs.

  • Any accidents must be cleaned immediately, and pet hair must be vacuumed prior to departure.

12. Children & Underage Models

  • Children must be supervised at all times while on the premises.

  • For safety and preservation of the space, running, jumping, climbing, throwing items, or hanging from studio structures is not permitted.

  • Models aged 16 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Photographers or creatives do not qualify unless they are the legal guardian.

  • Any creative working with children must hold a current Queensland Blue Card and produce it upon request.

13. Events, Occupancy & Neighbour Consideration

  • Maximum occupancy is limited to 26 persons at any one time, in line with fire safety requirements.

  • Where events involve guest flow, a ticketing or scheduling system must be used to ensure compliance.

  • The Hirer is responsible for ensuring guests are aware of exits and evacuation procedures.

  • Please be mindful of neighbouring businesses and residents by keeping noise and behaviour respectful.

  • Alcohol is permitted on a BYO basis only and must be consumed responsibly and in accordance with Queensland law.

14. Food & Alcohol

  • Composure Studio does not hold a food licence and is not a commercial kitchen.

  • The studio operates as a BYO venue only.

  • Any food or beverages brought into, prepared, served, sold, or consumed within the studio are the sole responsibility of the Hirer.

  • The Hirer is responsible for ensuring all food handling, storage, preparation, and service complies with relevant health, safety, and legal requirements.

  • Composure Studio accepts no liability for illness, injury, fines, or claims arising from food or beverage consumption.

  • The Hirer must advise Composure Studio via the booking form if food and/or alcohol will be present so appropriate safety and cleaning arrangements can be considered.

15. Talent, Image Use & Releases

  • The Hirer is responsible for obtaining all required permissions, licences, and model releases.

  • Composure Studio is not responsible for disputes relating to consent or image use.

  • With permission, Composure Studio may use images of the studio from your booking for promotional purposes. No payment or royalties apply.​

 

16. Code of Conduct for Businesses & Creatives

We expect all professionals operating within the studio to uphold high standards of professionalism and care.

 

  • All behaviour must be respectful, inclusive, and appropriate.

  • Harassment, coercion, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.

  • All participants must provide informed consent and may withdraw consent at any time.

  • Management reserves the right to intervene or end a session where conduct, content, or safety is of concern.

17. Damages & Bonds

  • Any damage identified during or after a booking that is attributable to the Hirer remains the Hirer’s responsibility.

  • While bonds are not routinely required, Composure Studio may request a bond for higher-risk bookings.

  • Where applicable, bonds are returned within three (3) business days following inspection.

18. Liability, Risk & Insurance

  • Use of the studio is at the Hirer’s own risk.

  • Composure Studio is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings or equipment, except where required by law.

  • The Hirer accepts full responsibility for their own actions and the actions of all guests, clients, contractors, and attendees associated with their booking.

  • Composure Studio is not liable for, and expressly excludes responsibility for, any fines, penalties, infringement notices, claims, lawsuits, charges, or legal consequences incurred by the Hirer or their guests. This includes, but is not limited to, matters relating to harassment, discrimination, smoke or fire breaches, activation of fire alarms, adult entertainment or content breaches, copyright or intellectual property infringement, licensing breaches, or any unlawful or non-compliant activity, whether committed knowingly or unknowingly.

  • The Hirer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Composure Studio, its owners, and representatives from any claims, losses, costs, damages, or legal expenses arising from such actions, except to the extent required by Australian Consumer Law.

  • The Hirer is responsible for arranging appropriate insurance, including public liability insurance and insurance for personal or hired equipment.

19. Breach & Termination

  • Failure to comply with these Terms & Conditions may result in immediate termination of the booking without refund.

  • If management raises a concern during a booking and it is not promptly addressed, the booking may be ended.

20. Updates to Terms

These Terms & Conditions are reviewed periodically to ensure clarity, fairness, and compliance.
